National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children – Saturday, September 8 from noon to 1:00 pm at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Winona, with the Most Rev. Bishop John M. Quinn presiding. In its sixth year, this is an opportunity to visit the one of 51 locations across the country where memorials for babies lost to abortion have been placed. Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life (MCCL) Fall Tour meeting on Wednesday, September 12 from 7:00pm to 8:00 pm at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart at 360 Main Street in Holy Family Hall. The Pro-Life Novena for Unborn Babies takes place September 29 – October 7. You are invited to offer a daily rosary for the protection of preborn babies in the womb. For information, see www.SaintMichaelTheArchangelOrganization.org.

Respect Life Sunday – Oct. 7: Day of prayer for respect for all life from its earliest beginning to natural death. Plus, October is Respect Life Month. Children are our greatest resource! What can you do to promote respect for Life?

National Life Chain – Oct. 7, 2:00 to 3:15 pm. Come join us for an hour of prayer to end abortion and to witness to the over 60 million pre-born babies lost to abortion. VIRTUS Classes

 If you plan on volunteering or working in any capacity for the Winona Catholic Churches/Schools VIRTUS training is required. The VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children awareness program is a 2 hour session for all adults to help our Churches/Schools provide a child-safe environment and empowering caring adults to protect children by recognizing the warning signs of sexual abuse and to respond appropriately.

There are 2 dates currently available for VIRTUS training in the Winona Area:
*Monday, August 13 at Cotter Schools in the computer lab at 1pm.
*Tuesday, August 21 from 6-8pm at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Holy Family Hall (church basement).

Parish Picnic 2018


All Cathedral parishioners are invited to attend the event this coming Sunday,  August 12th, following the 10:30 a.m. Mass.  

The celebration begins with a Marian procession around the block and concludes at the picnic site on the front lawn.  The parish will be providing hamburgers, hot-dogs and lemonadeWe ask that anyone attending please sign up to bring a side dish, salad or dessert to share (dish suggestions are according to the first letter of your last name when you sign up) and also to ensure we have enough hamburgers/hot dogs for everyone attending.  Fun games and face painting for the kids, fellowship and good times for all!

First Friday Eucharistic Adoration


    Join us TONIGHT at the Cathedral, Eucharistic Adoration and Confession.  Exposition will begin at 6:30 pm and conclude with Benediction at 7:30. All are welcome.  Games and snacks for our youth will be offered in the St. Augustine and the St. Thomas Rooms from 7:30-8:30.
