Christmas Movie Night (12/11)

The Nativity Story
2006   Rated PG  101 mins
Under Herod’s tortuous reign, families struggled to survive. In the midst of this turmoil, is the dramatic account of the Annunciation, a miraculous pregnancy, and the arduous journey of Mary and Joseph from their home in Nazareth to Bethlehem, Joseph’s ancestral home, to register for a census ordered by King Herod. This is a meticulously researched and visually lush adaptation of the biblical tale of the Nativity. The film follows the pair’s difficult journey of over 100 miles, through treacherous terrain until they find shelter in an innkeeper's stable for the history-defining birth of Jesus.

 “Powerful, timeless and visually magnificent”
