Catholic Charities Baby Bottle Campaign

Respect Life Sunday is October 4th and Cathedral will be participating in the Baby Bottle Campaign during the month of October. Please pick up a baby bottle at Mass the weekend of October 3rd and 4th, fill it with your spare change and bring it back to church the last weekend of October. The money collected through the Diocese will be used to help women who choose parenting or adoption rather than abortion. Last year over $45,000 was raised through this campaign.

Sacred Heart Coffee Table Books For Sale




The Sacred Heart of Jesus Coffee Table Books will be available after the Masses in the Gathering Space the weekend of October 3rd and 4th or in the Cathedral Office during regular business hours and in the Angels Everywhere Store after Mass. 
Between the covers, you'll find devotions, explanations of apologetics, and pictures from the Cathedral parish. These make great gifts for your family or friend. 

Suggested donation for books is $30 each. Get your book today and share your love for our parish with everyone who sees it in your home. 

Moving Sale for Msgr. Literski

There will be a moving sale for Msgr. Literski on September 25 from 8am to 3pm and on September 26 from 8am to 12noon at 1328D McNally Drive in Winona.

Live Production of Faustina: Messenger of Divine Mercy in La Crosse, WI (Tuesday 9/22)

Faustina: Messenger of Divine Mercy, the moving, live production performed by actress Maria Vargo and directed by Leonardo Defilippis of Saint Luke Productions, will be presented at Aquinas High School, Campbell Theater in La Crosse, MN on Tuesday, September 22, and Wednesday, September 23 at 7:00 p.m.  The events are sponsored by St. Patrick Parish.

Experience firsthand the life and message of Saint Faustina whose personal encounters with Jesus have inspired a world-wide devotion to Christ’s Divine Mercy. This drama also brings audiences a riveting modern story that makes Divine Mercy remarkably relevant and urgent for our world today.  The program is filled with all the elements of professional theater, runs 90 minutes, and is suitable for ages 13 and up.

"There's a Meetin'Here Tonight" - HIMS Concert (9/18-9/17)

Have you seen this poster around Cathedral and St. Casimir? 

For those who haven't, The Winona HIMS are giving a concert, "There's a Meetin' Here Tonight", at the Winona Middle School, Friday Sept. 18th (7 pm) and Saturday Sept. 19th (2 pm & 7 pm). They'll also be hosting guest artists Wildflower and Keli Burchill.

Hosts will serve donuts, coffee, fruit, and juice (provided by the Cathedral) to the congregation and collect any Hospitality Donations.

Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser September 19th

There will be a spaghetti dinner fundraiser to benefit the 14 youth and 3 chaperones attending the National Catholic Youth Conference from all five Winona Catholic Parishes. The dinner will be held from 5-7:30pm in Holy Family Hall at the Cathedral. Menu includes Spaghetti, garlic bread, salad and beverage. There will be a dessert and baked goods table with items for purchase. Jazz music from 6:30-7:30pm. Cost: Free Will Offering.

Consecration of the Diocese of Winona to Mary's Immaculate Heart

We celebrated the Consecration of the Diocese of Winona to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, an annual tradition and wonderful opportunity to share our dedication to our Holy Mother on the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. 

Our amazing Cathedral/St. Casimir Parishioners and Staff, Seminarians, Special Guests from all over the Diocese came together on Tuesday, September 8th to attend Mass and dinner with Bishop Quinn and the priests of the Diocese. 

Thank you to all who attended and offered their time and talent to this great celebration. 


Cathedral Chimney Gets a Face-lift


You may have noticed some loud noises and an extra cloud of dust around the Cathedral. We are sprucing up the chimney. Does it look beautiful so far?

Crop Hunger Walk September 20th

What are Crop Walks? Neighbors walking together to raise funds to end hunger in their community and around the world. Together - with different ages, faiths and backgrounds - we raise money and awareness to end hunger, one step at a time. With 1,500 communities across the country walking each year, we are America's Hunger Walk.

Join the Winona Community for the annual  Crop Hunger Walk on Sunday, September 20th. The walk begins at First Congregational Church, 161 W. Broadway and continues to St. Mary's Church, 1303 W. Broadway. Registration is at Noon at First Congregational Church and the walk begins at 1pm. Registration/sponsor forms are available in the Cathedral parish office and will be needed when you register or you can register at crophungerwalk.org. Set up a personal page and ask your family and friends to join you on walk day and sponsor your efforts. It's easy to track progress towards your goal! Even if you aren't able to make it walk day, you can still register and raise funds online!  

All funds raised will go to Winona Volunteer Food Shelf. For more information call 454-6868.

Pearls for Wise Living Deadline Coming Up

James: Pearls for Wise Living

Join us for James: Pearls for Wise Living at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart and St. Mary's parish, beginning September 22/23, 2015 and running through December 9/10, 2015


It will be offered in two sessions:
  • Tuesday evenings (6:30-8:30 p.m.) at St. Mary's Church in the Visitation Commons
  • Wednesday mornings (9:30-11:30 a.m.) at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Holy Family Hall.

Leaders Needed


We are looking for adult and youth volunteers to help lead and assist with Children's Liturgy during the 10:30am Sunday Mass at Cathedral. There will be a training session for all new leaders in September. All leaders must have VIRTUS training. If interested please contact the parish office at 452-4770.

Feed My Starving Children Mobile Packing Event October 3rd

Cathedral will once again be participating in the Rotary sponsored food packing in Winona. Feed My Starving Children is a Christian nonprofit hunger relief organization that provides food which is sent all around the world. The Social Justice group from Cathedral is looking for volunteers and monetary donations. We must provide 16 volunteers and at least $500 to cover the cost of the food ingredients we will be packing. The event will be held at Riverstar Corporation, 1705 Wilkie Drive in Winona. Cathedral participants will be packing food from 8am - 10am.
