This week's video, and Christmas reflection is brought to us by Chris Stefanick, founder of Real Life Catholic and national speaker on Evangelization.
"This year - this Christmas - we're reflecting on a simple question. What is the greatest gift God offers to each of us? We already know the answer to this: Himself.
But what is it we can offer to Him? What will we offer to Him?
We celebrate Christmas year after year by giving "stuff" to each other. But the greatest gift we can give to God or to one another, is simply ourselves.
So this year we are praying we don't get so caught up in the "busyness" of the holiday that we forget to slow down, to look one another in the eye, and tell our loved ones how much they mean to us.
I hope and pray you'll put aside your work to spend an hour playing that board game with your son. He'll be happy to unwrap his gift under the tree. But your undivided attention for an hour will be the far greater gift.
So slow down. Play with your family. Live the joy of Christmas. Tell people in your life you love them. And show it. And spend some time in prayer. Try reading Luke 2:8-14 before digging in to your Christmas feast, or with your family before unwrapping your gifts.
"Come, let us adore" the one who gave Himself to us!
But let's follow his example too. Don't just share presents and food this Christmas. Share yourself."
