Story of the accident
As many may have heard, a Winona man was severely injured in a Western Wisconsin crash. Dan Jonsgaard was traveling eastbound in the left lane of interstate 90 at 7:15 A.M. on Tuesday December 10th in Juneau County near New Lisbon when a pickup driver lost control traveling into Dan's lane causing Dan to swerve and roll his semi after the other driver, of Albert Lea, MN lost control of his 2008 dodge pickup. Dan has life threatening injuries and other driver, walked away with no injuries.
Since the accident, Daniel has been in a coma, on full life support, on a breathing ventilator, and has had a great deal of stitches. Currently Dan has a feeding tube and a trachea tube and is still in a coma state. The extent of the brain injury is unknown as also the horrific brain stem injury. The family has been told that it is the most severe brain injury the doctors in Madison and St. Paul have ever seen.
