An Opportunity to Help: The Jonsgaard Family

One of our parishioners, Dan Jonsgaard, was in a terrible accident on December 10th while driving his semi:
"A Winona man suffered life-threatening injuries Tuesday when he lost control of his semi after being struck by an oncoming pickup truck in western Wisconsin.
Daniel Joseph Jonsgaard, 50, was eastbound in the left lane of Interstate 90 about 7:15 a.m. in Juneau County near New Lisbon when a pickup truck in the right lane traveled into the left lane, causing Jonsgaard to swerve and roll his semi several times, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.
Jonsgaard was transported to a Madison-area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The pickup driver, Keith Allan Hensel, 29, of Albert Lea, Minn., was uninjured in the crash, officials said."
Dan was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.  Since his accident, he has been moved from Madison (near the crash site) to St. Paul’s Bethesda Hospital.
Dan has started to make progress and is responding to family members, but has a very long road ahead with his recovery. His wife (Cathy) and children (Sandra, Dan, and Jake) are driving back and forth to the hospital as much as possible.  At this time, Dan is expected to be in the hospital for the next three months.
We have created a site for the Jonsgaard family on Meal Train to help aid them with frozen and pre-cooked meals while Dan is in the hospital. Using the Meal Train site, you can sign up for a day to provide a prepared or frozen meal.
Kwik Trip gas cards  and cash donations are also being collected to help aid with travel costs to and from St. Paul.
Meals and donations should be dropped off at the Cathedral Rectory and will be taken to the family.
We ask for the help of our parish community to help support the Jonsgaard family during this difficult time and please remember them in your prayers.
