Do you need to take VIRTUS?
Every minister or volunteer needs to attend a VIRTUS Session. This includes Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Ushers, Sacristans, Event Volunteers, etc. In order to continue in your ministry or volunteer work, you must take a VIRTUS session. This includes the Parish Festival Volunteers. Because of this, we are encouraging every parishioner to take a session.

What is VIRTUS?
VIRTUS is a program that helps us promote and maintain a safe environment for children and vulnerable adults in our parish families. It helps those who work, volunteer, or minister in the church to learn signs of abuse. It highlights signals and behavior to watch for, as well as reporting procedures. This is a one-time session that lasts approximately 2 hours.

How Do I Sign Up?
The session must be taken in person (there is no on-line session). You can sign up for a session by clicking here. If you do not have a computer, please contact or stop by the parish office and we can assist you.

Background Checks
Every minister or volunteer needs to have a current background check on file at the parish office. This is part of the program required by the Diocese, as well as the State of MN. Haven't signed a consent form in the past year and a half? You can stop by the parish office and fill one out, or go to this link. Please return this to the parish office as soon as possible.
