Refugee Resettlement Project

As you know, Our social Justice Committee has been working with Catholic Charities on a new Refugee Resettlement Project. Many of you have answered their call for help and donated. The Winona Knights of Columbus also helped out with several new winter coats. Today, we received a letter from the Catholic Charities coordinator in Rochester, Mary Alessio, that she wanted us to share with you.

Dear Sacred Heart Cathedral and St. Casimir Parish families:
I am humbled by your kindness and generosity.  Your monetary donations to the Refugee Resettlement Program and donations of pillows, various gift baskets, and new winter coats for our children arriving in need are blessings beyond measure.
Your acts of kindness will assist in creating new beginnings for those who arrive from war torn countries.  Many of our children have never experienced the gifts of peace and tranquility we so often take for granted.  Although beginning again can be a challenge, your selfless acts and gifts of welcome will bring smiles to little ones and comfort to many families who arrive apprehensive and scared.  On behalf of those I serve, I thank you and ask God to bless you and your families!

Warmly,
 Mary Alessio
