Do you need to take VIRTUS?

Do you need to take VIRTUS?
Every minister or volunteer needs to attend a Virtus Session. In order to continue in your ministry or volunteer work, you must take a VIRTUS session. You can sign up for a session by clicking on the button on the right side of this website, or by clicking here.

What is VIRTUS?
VIRTUS is a program required by the Diocese of Winona that teaches and enables those who work and volunteer or minister in the church to learn about ways to protect children and vulnerable adults. It teaches signals and behavior to watch for, as well as reporting procedures.
This is a one-time session that lasts approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes. The session must be taken in person (there is no on-line session). You can sign up for a session by clicking on the button on the right side of this website, or by clicking here.

Background Checks
Every minister or volunteer needs to have a background check on file at the parish office. This is part of the program required by the Diocese, as well as the State of MN. Haven't signed a consent form in the past year? Stop by the Parish office and fill one out, or click here to print off the PDF form and return it to the office.
