Feed My Starving Children

Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God’s children hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: children and adults hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children, shipped to nearly 70 countries around the world. Cathedral will sponsor and work at the event on March 24th. We need 16 volunteers and $800.00 (we already have $500.00 committed).
The Rice pack food blend has won rave reviews all over the world. While the formula was designed to save the lives of severely malnourished and starving children, the ingredients also improve the health, growth and physical well-being of children who are no longer in immediate danger of starvation. A team of food scientists continues to monitor the FMSC formula to ensure that it meets nutritional needs of the world’s hungry children. A single bag of food—which provides highly nutritious meals for six children—costs around $1.44 to produce, and 93 percent of all donations to FMSC goes directly toward the food program. Donations should be made to Cathedral of the Sacred Heart with "Feed my Starving Children" in the memo line of the check. You can volunteer to make the Rice pacs by sending an email to info@cathedralwinona.org. For more info see http://www.fmsc.org/ the Feed My Starving Children WEB Site.
